Tourism plays a significant role in the economy of the Island and Coastal region and attracts visitors from all parts of BC, Canada and the world. Millions of dollars in economic activity is generated annually through tourism and it has become a key source of economic diversification for many resource based communities.

ICET investments help to create jobs in tourism, generally in the hospitality and service sectors. However, these new and revitalized tourism assets - trails, waterfront amenities, and more – also improve the quality of life for residents and encourage new business development and relocation of established businesses from around the globe.
