Chemainus Theatre Society (CTS) had no in-person productions in 2020. This project allowed CTS to purchase equipment necessary to livestream events from their stage. Funding was used to purchase a specialized computer, cameras and associated technology, as well as a streaming service platform. CTS partnered with the City of Duncan to successfully livestream an awards show. With the streaming technology, the society is optimistic that their venue will be economically viable for in-house productions, as well as for community organizations and local governments looking to produce their own content.
Island Coastal Economic Trust approved funding for this project in 2020 through the Community Placemaking program.
