The project was piloted in 2021 with 17 Vancouver Island businesses and showed significant interest.
There is a need on Vancouver Island to support local businesses with cost-effective solutions for warehousing products, packing, and shipping products. Deliver Vancouver Island (Delvi) is a community owned and operated social enterprise, which started in response to this gap in the market. It has, through its initial pilot phase, proven to be a viable solution.
The Delvi Marketing Plan will help encourage more Vancouver Island businesses – particularly those in the Island Good family, home-based businesses, and those working in the agriculture producing sector – to take advantage of this new delivery model. This will allow them to focus on creating new products and product lines, marketing their products further afield, and pursuing other e-commerce opportunities.
The result will be a huge savings each month in processing deliveries, lowering storage costs and making inventory storage a reality.
Island Coastal Economic Trust approved funding for this project in 2022 through the Capital and Innovation program.
We work in reciprocal relationships with coastal communities across the ancestral territories of the Kwak̓wala, Nuučaan̓uɫ, Éy7á7juuthem, Ligwilda'xw, Pəntl'áč, She shashishalhem, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Hul’q’umi’num’, diitiidʔaatx̣, SENĆOŦEN, Lekwungen, and T’Sou-ke speaking peoples.
