The project was piloted in 2021 with 17 Vancouver Island businesses and showed significant interest.
There is a need on Vancouver Island to support local businesses with cost-effective solutions for warehousing products, packing, and shipping products. Deliver Vancouver Island (Delvi) is a community owned and operated social enterprise, which started in response to this gap in the market. It has, through its initial pilot phase, proven to be a viable solution.
The Delvi Marketing Plan will help encourage more Vancouver Island businesses – particularly those in the Island Good family, home-based businesses, and those working in the agriculture producing sector – to take advantage of this new delivery model. This will allow them to focus on creating new products and product lines, marketing their products further afield, and pursuing other e-commerce opportunities.
The result will be a huge savings each month in processing deliveries, lowering storage costs and making inventory storage a reality.
Island Coastal Economic Trust approved funding for this project in 2022 through the Capital and Innovation program.
